An industry focus that pays off for his clients
By keeping his business focused exclusively on the
restaurant/ entertainment venue field,
Ira Spilky has acquired an unsurpassed
level of industry expertise. Ira
has worked with successful restaurants and clubs including Mel's Drive-In,
BJ's Chicago Pizza & Brewery, Mastro's
Steakhouse, and Blue Note Jazz & Restaurant,
as well as real estate companies such Regent Properties, Forest City Development
and The Irvine Company, who named him Broker of the Year for 2001. And that's
just a small sampling of Ira's clients.
Ira broke into the restaurant industry in the late 70s, opening and operating
Fast and Natural, a healthy fast food chain, and developing Rainbow Food Service,
a
wholesale
food product company. In 1981, Ira was invited to create and teach courses
on restaurant management and entrepreneurial strategies for the UCLA School
of Business Management extension program. As Ira's students graduated, they
began asking him to help them find locations for their own restaurants, and
Ira's consulting business was born.
From these beginnings, Ira Spilky & Associates grew quickly. Ira now offers:
- Location and real estate leasing
and sales
- Chain restaurant/entertainment
venue site selection
- Purchase and lease negotiations
- Turnkey and
conversion
business opportunities
- Concept and menu development for
startups
He also provides restaurant appraisal
services and expert witness
testimony. Since 1981, Ira has
been a speaker
at annual programs
of the California, Washington and Colorado Restaurant Associations.
He holds a bachelor's degree
in Business Administration and a
Master's
degree
in Industrial
Psychology.
